Each room at Nokishita Toshokan has been carefully renovated with deep respect for the original spirit of the house. Our aim is not to erase history, but to let it breathe—creating a warm, timeless stay in rural Japan where tradition and contemporary comfort gently meet.

The décor flows consistently throughout the house, rooted in a Japanese aesthetic while allowing space for creative reinterpretation. Antique and reclaimed objects are thoughtfully repurposed and given new life: former kotatsu bases have become soft-glowing lamps, while vintage kimono fabrics now adorn the windows as handcrafted blinds, filtering natural light with quiet elegance.

Every detail reflects a slow, intentional approach to design—one that values sustainability, craftsmanship, and story.
